No service record has been found for Peter. His medal Index Card and North Lopham Absent Voter Lish both show him as in the Royal Field Artillery, Gunner/Wheeler, Serv. No. 216299. He died on 1 March 1964 in Coventry - aged 65 years. He had his estate probated on 29 May 1964 in Leicester, Leicestershire - “GOOCH Peter John of 3 Newland Road Coventry died 1 March at Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital Coventry Probate Leicester 29 May to Florence Elizabeth Gooch widow. Effects £3129.”
